Reason for Serving on SRHOA Board – My husband and I love living in Wilson County, particularly Shannon Ridge and I have a strong interest in seeing that our deed restrictions are adhered to so as to preserve our property values.  I would also like to assist the current board in building a more cohesive association/neighborhood – they have accomplished a lot of good work and there’s still more tasks to tackle.

Treasurer

John Turner

John moved to Shannon Ridge in 1998 and is one of the founding members of the homeowners’ association.  When the HOA was founded in 2003, he served as treasurer and has held that position to date.

With his tax accounting business, he has the best knowledge and ability to serve as our treasurer.  He has gone over and beyond serving our members for many years.  We hope he will continue in this position as long as he is able.

Parliamentarian

Larry Sanders, served as the VFW Texas State Commander for 2023-2024.

A Gold Legacy Life Member of the Lytle Memorial VFW Post 12041 in Lytle, Texas, has served with distinction since joining the Veterans of Foreign Wars in 2004. During his military career, he served in the United States Air Force and was assigned to the 7th Air Force in the Republic of Vietnam, earning various distinguished Service Medals.

Sanders was elected State Senior Vice Commander at the 102nd Department of Texas VFW State Convention in Durant, Oklahoma, for the 2022-2023 term. Nationally, Sanders has served twice as Deputy Chief-of-Staff, in addition to roles as National Aide-de-Camp and Special Aide-de-Camp, and he has contributed to the National By-Laws Committee.

Beyond his VFW commitments, Sanders was actively involved in his community as President of the Board of Directors for the Lytle Chamber of Commerce, a Director of the Lytle Education Foundation, Finance Chairman for the Boy Scouts of America, and he has been honored twice as Citizen of the Year in Lytle.
